Matthew Sayers LICWCI Director

Matthew started his career in 1987 aged 16 as an electrical apprentice at N.G. Bailey & Co. Ltd. His apprenticeship lasted 4 years with 2 years of block release to Kitson College of Technology in Leeds and N.G. Bailey’s in house training school also in Leeds. This training was regarded as the best in the UK at that time.

Matthew progressed through college and training school, gaining Credits and Distinctions in various City & Guilds and NVQ certificates through his apprenticeship.

Once qualified in 1991 as an Electrician, Matthew gained further valuable experience in commercial and industrial electrical contracting, working the length and breadth of the UK for major companies in new builds and refurbishments.

After only 1 year of becoming a qualified electrician and at the age of 21, Matthew was asked to be site foreman on a major refurbishment at Calow Hospital in Chesterfield for N.G. Bailey. This was to be the start of many successful jobs Matthew would overlook as Charge-hand or Site Foreman for a number of electrical contractors, working on projects like HSBC Head Office, West Bar, Sheffield; Department of Work and Pensions, Hanover Way, Sheffield; Sheffield University, Alfred Denny Building; Morrisons Supermarkets, South of England.

At the beginning of 2006 Matthew and Richard decided to join forces and in April of that year CS Electrical (Sheffield) Limited was formed as a Limited Company with a commitment to providing a reliable, professional and trustworthy service to clients throughout the UK.

In 2015 Matthew became an approved LICWCI member of the Institute of Clerks of Works.

Matthew’s interests include: His love of family and friends; travelling the globe; motorcycling – home and abroad; listening to music and watching live bands; all things to do with technology; enjoying fine food and beverages.

Richard Crofts, good electricians, n g bailey electrician

Richard Crofts MIET Director

Richard’s working life began in 1997 as an Electrical Apprentice with N.G. Bailey who are one of the UK’s leading independent engineering, IT and facilities services companies. During his four year apprenticeship Richard was coveted with the award of National Apprentice of the Year for four consecutive years. Richard also attended the Leeds College of Technology and N.G. Bailey’s own award winning practical training centre in Leeds acquiring numerous qualifications, including City & Guilds 236 (C Course) and BTEC in Building Services Engineering achieving Distinctions in both.

After qualifying as an electrician in 2001, Richard progressed through N.G. Bailey reaching the level of Senior Site Manager, Project Managing a number of multi million pound refurbishments at Sheffield University (Firth Court/Alfred Denny buildings) and Sheffield Hallam University (Owen building).

Since leaving N.G. Bailey in 2005, Richard has continued to work on various projects gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience while doing so, enabling him to undertake many roles, including Project Management on contracts in major supermarkets, colleges, hospitals and data centres. Richard is an MIET accredited member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and is a JIB Site Technician.

At the beginning of 2006 Richard together with Matthew became a Partnership and in April of that year CS Electrical (Sheffield) Ltd was formed with a commitment to providing a reliable, professional and trustworthy service to clients throughout the UK. CS Electrical continues to grow each year and have successfully completed thousands of projects nationally for numerous clients.

Richard’s interests are spending time with his family and friends, snowboarding, climbing, motorbiking, football, travelling  and generally spending time outdoors, if the great British weather permits!
